Palmchat car awoof! Where are the ladies?

Article not written by me. It's a promo piece...enjoy!

Hey people! Many of you who might have seen
this and ignored it might need to have a rethink.
There are really a lot of promotional offers out
there and just like typical Nigerians, we always call
them "scam" or "wash".

Ok let me just go straight to the point. Palmchat is
the "on board" social app now – I mean, they have
been very generous in sharing gifts to all and
sundry, especially our beautiful young ladies (and
don't get me wrong, I meant all Nigerian women
are beautiful *winks*).

If you were at the last NYSC orientation camp in
Lagos, or you have been in Unilag lately, you will
understand what I am talking about. They even
provide free Wi-Fi for anyone to download palmchat
to their phones, and trust these girls , dem no dey
carry last. They use it to download Vampire diaries,
Mount Zion movies or Scandal's latest series sharp
sharp! Who no like awoof?

But then they are still offering more. This time it's a
CAR!!! "Car?" you say… Yes you heard me right.. CAR!
And to think you don't have to do much like you are
applying for a state scholarship. It just works like a
referral thing. Download palmchat, which I believe
many of us have already, visit the palmchat.hotreferralinc.com site and register with
your unique palmchat I.D. You will then obtain a
referral link to invite friends to download palmchat,
and with this link unique to your ID alone, you earn
reward points for every person referred. And you
earn extra points, maybe even double points if it's a
girl referred. The person with the highest points at
the end date automatically wins the car! CAPISH!

Hmmm…Palmchat is favoring girls oo!.Now I'm
almost convinced one of these ladies that virtually
"sleep" online will win this Car. They have it all on
their side. It can't be difficult for them to get people.
But the guys stand a chance too, you earn the extra
points if you get a girl to register. All just in the
comfort of your room, bed even.

People, are you still reading this? Start off
immediately, no time. Palmchat is on all platforms;
Android, Blackberry, Nokia Symbian and windows
(any other one?). Stop giving yourself excuses.. Get
busy!

Great news for Car owners: Read Article

Did you ever think that you could make money by
driving to work, visiting friends, driving to the
supermarket, to church etc.? Brandmycar.com.ng
has launched a platform that matches everyday
people (car owners) – who want to earn extra income
with brands that want effective mobile Out-Of-Home
exposure.

Brands will travel with car owners where they work,
where they live…and where they drive.

This form of paid to drive advertising on-vehicles is
the first of its kind in Nigeria and set to make driving
rewarding for both car owners and advertisers. All a
car owner needs to do is to sign up on
brandmycar.com.ng and register for free.

Subsequently, advertisers can also pick cars to brand
easily on the website. Brandmycar.com.ng serves as
the link between people who are willing to display
commercial campaigns on their cars and the
advertiser. Advertising spaces on billboards and
traditional advertising mediums can be quite
expensive for advertisers hence the need for new
and impactful channels.

This advertising medium poses enormous benefits
for both the car owner and advertiser. The car owner
will be compensated for every month which they
have the advertisers' campaign on their vehicle -
which enables them to make extra cash.

Advertisers
benefit from getting enormous exposure for their
brands, reaching their target markets for a lower cost
than they would have to spend on other traditional
and non-traditional medium of advertising.

The application of vehicle branding cuts across
multiple uses, SMEs, FMCGs, Political parties, NGOs,
Corporate organisations etc can all benefit from this
form of advertising for their campaigns.

Brandmycar.com is available to interested car
owners and advertisers in Lagos, Abuja, Port
Harcourt, Owerri, Benin, Ibadan, Warri, Enugu and
Calabar.

Couple having sex in sea became stuck together and have to be separated in hospital

Hard to believe but that is what Italian media
reported this week...lol. An unidentified Italian couple
had to be rushed to the hospital this week after their
genitals got stuck together while having sex in the sea
at Porto San Giorgio in the Marche region of Italy

According to Italian newspaper Il Mattino, the man
and woman called for help about 30minutes after
they went into the sea. A woman walking along the
deserted beach heard their call for help and handed
them a towel. Other locals went to rescue the
embarrassed couple and called an ambulance.

It took
about an hour for an ambulance to get there and take
the couple to the hospital.

A doctor was able to free them by administering an
injection to dilate the woman's uterus. Doctors later
told the press that the man was 'unable to extricate
himself from the woman due to suction'.

Lol don't laugh, It happens Atimes.

Pic: Nigerian man jumps to his death trying to escape from police in Malaysia

The Nigerian man pictured above named Osazuwa
allegedly jumped to his death from a 15-storey
building on Monday October 13th as police stormed
a place he was staying with friends in Malaysia.

According to local media report, a Nigerian student
had lodged a police report in Puchong on Sunday
October 12th claiming his girlfriend had been
kidnapped by Osazuwa and his gang.

"The boyfriend said he received a call from a
suspect who demanded RM40,000 for the release
of his girlfriend, also a Nigerian student here.

We
suspected the kidnappers were people that the
victim must have known. Police immediately
tracked the victim and her kidnappers'
whereabouts." criminal investigator Datuk Mohd
Adnan Abdullah said.

Malaysia police said the victim's boyfriend
cooperated with the police in their investigations and
he managed to coax the suspects into giving him
more time and told them he was gathering the funds.

The police managed to find the victim's location on
Monday. She was being held in a condominium unit
in Taman Melati, Ampang.

"We formed a team to raid the condominium unit
and moved in on the suspects at about 5pm."

Mohd Adnan said when police ambushed the unit
located at the condominium's 13th floor, there were
three Nigerian men and two local women.

The victim was being held in one of the rooms.

"Upon seeing the police, the suspects attempted
to escape. The raiding team arrested two women
and two men," he said.

The other suspect tried to climb down from the
balcony to a unit below.

However, he could not grab hold of anything and fell
to his death.

"The suspect who died was in his 20s and we are
still trying to establish his identity," Mohd Adnan
said.

The victim was unharmed while in the custody of the
suspects. He said investigation are underway to
determine how many other kidnapping cases they
were involved in.

"The gang thought they could get money quickly
by carrying out this crime, but look what had
happened — it has just gone awfully wrong," he
said.

Ebola fears as passenger flying from Nigeria to JFK dies in his seat after vomiting profusely

There was fresh Ebola fears yesterday October 16th
after an unidentified 63 year old man on board an
Arik flight which left Lagos on Wednesday night
heading to New York's JFK airport died before the
plane reached its destination after vomiting profusely
in his seat.

The plane crew immediately contacted the Centre for
Disease Control, CDC, and custom officials, who then
boarded the plane as it touched down, forcing 145
worried passengers to remain on board, UK Daily
Mail reports..

CDC then conducted tests on the body and found he
did not have Ebola.

According to The New York Post the unidentified
man's body was then handed over to the Port
Authority who removed it from the plane. What they
plan to do with the remains have not been made
known.

Throughout the ordeal, the door connecting the
aircraft to the terminal was left open, prompting
worries from Republican Congressman Peter King
that there are not enough checks in place before
reaching the screening process.

In a letter to the Department of Homeland Security,
King wrote:

'It was what I was told a cursory examination. The
Port Authority cops and personnel from Customs
and Border Protection were there, and they were
told there was no danger because the person did
not have Ebola,'

'But their concern was, how could you tell so
quickly? And what adds to the concern is how
wrong the CDC has been over the past few weeks.

'These individuals transit the airport with the rest
of the traveling population, including using the
restrooms,' King wrote in a letter on Thursday.

Keshi Reacts To His Dismissal As Super Eagles' Coach

Less than 24 hours after he was relieved of his
post as the head coach of the Nigeria's Super
Eagles, Stephen Keshi has said it is time for him
to move on.

"It is about time for me to move on, my dear. This is
not the end of the world for me," Keshi
told Premium Times moments after he was
dismissed as the coach of the Eagles.

It would be recalled that the former Togo and Mali
coach was booed by football fans when he stepped
into the national stadium in Abuja during Nigeria
versus Sudan 2015 Nations Cup qualifier on
Wednesday.

The match ended 3-1 in favour of the Super Eagles.
Keshi was asked to go after beating Sudan 3-1 on
Wednesday in Abuja.

The win came after Nigeria had lost two of its
previous encounters and had a draw in the
qualifying rounds, placing it in doubtful position of
qualifying for the football show piece.

Mark Zuckerberg donates $25million to help fight Ebola

Facebook founder and the 13th richest person in the
world, Mark Zuckerberg, estimated to be worth over
$30billion just announced on his Facebook page that
he's donating $25 million to the Centers for Disease
Control Foundation to help fight Ebola.

Continue to
read the statement he released...

Priscilla and I are donating $25 million to the
Centers for Disease Control Foundation to help
fight Ebola. The Ebola epidemic is at a critical
turning point. It has infected 8,400 people so far,
but it is spreading very quickly and projections
suggest it could infect 1 million people or more
over the next several months if not addressed.
We need to get Ebola under control in the near
term so that it doesn't spread further and become
a long term global health crisis that we end up
fighting for decades at large scale, like HIV or
polio.

We believe our grant is the quickest way to
empower the CDC and the experts in this field to
prevent this outcome.

Grants like this directly help the frontline
responders in their heroic work. These people are
on the ground setting up care centers, training
local staff, identifying Ebola cases and much
more.

We are hopeful this will help save lives and get
this outbreak under control.

Photo: Dallas nurse with Ebola has been identified

The Dallas nurse who contracted Ebola while treating
Liberian Thomas Eric Duncan at the Texas Health
Presbyterian Hospital, has been identified at 26 year
old Nina Pham. Nina, according to report, was
among over 50 staff of the hospital that cared for
Duncan who later died on October 8th.

Nina is said to probably have had the closest contact
with Duncan, she was his personal nurse and was in
his room often. She and others who cared for
Duncan wore protective gear, including gowns,
gloves, masks and face shields, and sometimes full-
body suits but that didn't help Nina. She's officially
the first person to contract the disease within the US.

She's currently being treated at the same hospital.
Yesterday, she received a blood transfusion from
Ebola survivor, Dr Kent Brantly. Hopefully she will
make it.

Looks like NFF is looking for another coach to replace Keshi

After losing 3-2 to Congo, 1-0 to a meek Sudanese
side, drawing with South Africa and being at the
bottom of Group A with a single point after three
rounds of matches in the qualifying tournament for
Morocco 2015, it looks like the Nigeria Football
Federation is getting ready to replace Super Eagles
coach, Stephen Keshi.

The NFF have said they won't make any hasty
decisions on Keshi's future but will wait till the match
tomorrow to know what step to take next. Sports
analyst believe that if the Super Eagles fail to win the
match tomorrow, then Keshi can as well kiss his job
goodbye.

The NFF board will meet today and tomorrow after
the match to determine where to go from here but
there are strong indications that they are already

Gays have gifts and qualities to offer the church - Vatican

The Vatican has asked for gay men and women to be
given a chance in the catholic faith as they have gifts
and qualities to offer the church. This call was made
in a document released yesterday October 13th by
the Vatican after a week-long Synod (Council of a
church, usually convened to decide an issue of
doctrine,) attended by about 200 bishops, who
deliberated and came up with the resolution
contained in a document which is known by its latino
name "relatio",

"Homosexuals have gifts and qualities to offer the
Christian community: are we capable of
welcoming these people, guaranteeing to them a
further space in our communities? Often they
wish to encounter a Church that offers them a
welcoming home," the document read..

The document also asked the Church to challenge
itself to find 'a fraternal space' for homosexuals
without compromising Catholic doctrine on family
and matrimony.

Child labour: 6 year old boy photographed Hawking Drinks

Here are photos of a little boy, not more than 6 years
old, spotted hawking drinks as early as 10 this
morning in Lagos. I know some people need to make
ends meet to survive but sending a child this young
to the street is wrong on every level. This is so
heartbreaking to see!

Do you think there should be some kind of
punishment for parents/guardians who send an
innocent child out on the streets instead of school? I
think we should all get involved. Send a child to
#schoolnotstreet!

Pay tax for what? Bishop Oyedepo reacts to being named richest pastor in the world

Winners Chapel GO Bishop David Oyedepo who
recently turned 60, has reacted to the Forbes List of
World's Richest pastors where he was placed at No.1
with an estimated worth of about $150million.

Oyedepo told Reuters that he doesn't know how
Forbes arrived at their figure but says he's blessed...

"For me, to have fortune means someone who has
what he needs at any point in time. I don't see
myself as having $150 million stacked up
somewhere. Whatever way they found their
figures, I am only able to say I am blessed by the
Lord."

Asked if churches should pay tax considering how
much they make, Bishop Oyedepo said;
"There is no single government input on this

Remembering The Chibok Girls - By Femi Fani Kayode

Article written by Femi Fani-Kayode

In the early hours of the morning of April 14th
2014 276 girls were abducted from their school as
they slept. They all came from a predominantly
Christian town in northern Nigeria called Chibok.

They were all between the ages of 15 and 18. They
were eager to get a good education and to make
something of their lives. 90 per cent of them were
Christians who believed passionately that their
God would always protect them and make a way
for them in the predominantly Muslim Borno state
where they resided in north-eastern Nigeria.

They left home on the morning of April 13th
confidently, eagerly and happily and went to school
to do an exam. The Federal Government of Nigeria,
headed by a Christian President by the name of Mr.
Goodluck Jonathan, had earlier reminded the local
authorities that the school had been closed for a
considerable period of time for security reasons and
warned that it should not be re-opened for the exams
to take place at Chibok because of the activities of the
deadly islamist terrorist sect known as Boko Haram
in that area. However the Muslim Governor of Borno
state, Mr. Kashim Shettima, ignored these warnings
and assured the Federal Government that he would
provide the necessary security. He also assured the
parents of the safety of the young girls.

He said that he would open the school specifically for
the purpose of the exams and he encouraged the
girls to not only come and do those exams but also
to spend one night at the school after finishing them.

Convinced by his assurances and moved by his
conviction and confidence, the parents of the girls
allowed their wards to proceed to the school for the
exam and they encouraged them to spend the night
there. The curious twist to the tale is the fact that a
few of the girls that went to take that exam were the
children of those that taught at the school yet after
the exams were concluded not one of them stayed in
the school or opted to spend the night.

It was almost as if they had a premonition of what
was going to happen or, perhaps, someone on the
inside had warned them about the horrors that lay
ahead. The Governor of the state did not honor his
word to provide security at the school. As a matter of
fact as the girls prepared to sleep that night not one
adult was in the school premises to watch over them
apart from an old man who was the school
gatekeeper and who slept at the gate. No teacher,
supervisor or school official stayed with them that
night and neither did the school matron, headmaster
or principal.

Not one person in authority was with them let alone
an armed man or woman to protect them from the
obvious dangers. They were on their own. Worse still
there was no electricity that night and no lights were
on because there was no power flowing from the
national grid and neither was the school generator
working. The girls were not only on their own but
they were also in total and complete darkness.

They
said their prayers, sang a few hymns, asked for God's
protection and went to bed. Then, at approximately
3.00 a.m. in the morning, Boko Haram stormed the
premises. The girls were subjected to the most
unspeakable forms of abuse: they were raped,
brutalised, traumatised and finally they were
abducted.

The terrorists not only took the girls but they also
ransacked the school, stole all the food in the
premises, burnt a number of school buildings and
made away with whatever they could lay their hands
on. They bundled the 276 young girls into their
lorries and sped in the dead of the night into the
deadly clutches and dark groves of their hideout- the
notorious Sambisa Forest. A few days later the
leader of Boko Haram, Mr. Ibrahim Shekau, released
a video of himself telling the world about his
intention to convert the girls to Islam, sell them into
slavery ''in markets'' and marry them off in foreign
lands.

He said that Islam permitted him to do so. He also
said that he would never release them. He claimed
that they had become slaves of Boko Haram and that
they would remain slaves forever. Two weeks later a
video was released of some girls covered in Muslim
shawls and garb reciting the Koran. It was clear that
Mr. Shekau had kept his word. These girls had been
forcefully converted to Islam and they were now
slaves.

Thankfully 55 of them managed to escape whilst they
were being abducted from the school on their way to
Sambisa forest. They did so by jumping off the
moving lorries that their captors had herded them
into. Two more escaped a few days after arriving in
Sambisa forest. They have since recounted some of
the horrors that they were subjected to and that they
faced whilst in captivity.

This includes multiple rapes on a daily basis from
several men, group sex, beatings, killings, torture,
enslavement, maimings and forced renunciations of
their christian faith and conversion to Islam. Clearly
the 219 girls that are still in captivity are literally in
hell. Stories are told of how some of them have been
sold off ''in marriage'' to wealthy Arabs in north
Africa and the Middle East and how others have
become sex slaves in bordering African nations like
Chad, the Sudan and Niger Republic. Up till today the
Nigerian Federal Government has no idea where they
actually are and have not been able to rescue any of
them.

A world-wide ''Bring Back Our Girls'' campaign has
been launched and this has created more awareness
about their horrendous plight and kept hope alive for
their safe return. However when a former President
of Nigeria, Mr. Olusegun Obasanjo, said that the
world would soon have to come to terms with the
fact that ''we may never see those girls again'' and
that ''by now some of them will be dead whilst others
will be pregnant'' it did not give much cause for hope
or cheer. Perhaps the utter despair that Mr.
Obasanjo's words reflected added to the anxiety,
trauma and heartache that resulted in the sudden
deaths of no less than 7 of the parents of the
abducted girls.

The truth is that the girls are not just the victims of
the most vicious Islamist terrorist organisation on
the African continent today, an organisation whose
sheer cruelty and barbarity is at par with that of ISIL,
but they are also the victims of an uncaring and
insensitive ruling political elite in Nigeria who would
prefer that the whole matter is just swept under the
carpet and forgotten simply because they do not
have the capability, the guts or the political will to
take on Boko Haram in any meaningful way and
rescue the girls.

The reality, as unpleasant as it may sound, is as
follows. When the question is asked ''where are our
girls?'', the answer is that they are somewhere in hell,
hoping and praying that the Nigerian authorities and
the international community never forgets them and
manages to muster the resolve, know-how and
courage to rescue them. We owe them that much:
after all they are our children.

Yet all hope is not lost. On 25th September 2014 one
of the girls was released by Boko Haram. Sadly she
was not only pregnant but she had also lost her mind
as a consequence of the trauma that she had
suffered from her ordeal. The good news is that she
is at least alive and safely back home with her family
where she belongs. This gives us hope for the others.
May God bring home our girls and may we never
forget them.
